Sleeping till 1

•August 10, 2008 • Leave a Comment

So apparently I’ve been in need of some sleep. Last night my friend Rachel and I went to club trinity. It was a lot of fun… One thing is I have come to realize that seattle if full of crazy characters (many of them extremely creepy and just trying to hard). I am pretty sure I won’t be finding a future husband here…

Anyway, I digress… So we went to bed around 3am (normal for going out at night). Next thing I know I wake up at 1pm. I can’t remember the last time I slept that late! Probably back when I was in high school. My body needed it I think. I feel better today, but still very groggy. Work is very draining… fun but draining.

Tonight its my friends Homan’s birthday… We shall see how long i can stay awake…

Right now im just procrastinating on taking a shower and trying to avoid taking a nap so i can wake up for the party…

Ok. I’m watching tv right now and a comercial came on for a new musical teenager show “The America Mall”… Your kidding me right? How ridiculous can you get? So the entier thing takes place in a mall? Wonderful. Any thoughts?

Ok Must get my ass moving :-)   (sorry for the very pointless and rambling post today.. im hungover haha)

Not so handy….

•August 4, 2008 • 2 Comments

Ok. So living on my own for the first time, I realize how truely not-handy I am. My goal for the day: put 10 pretty round mirrors up on the wall above my bed. (No not on the ceiling you dirty dirty person). So its been a couple weeks since I got the mirrors… but it was a major challenge to get the right screws (stupid design flaws). Anyway moral of the story: I got 5 out of 10 mirrors up and 9 out of 10 screws in. Then I got frustrated and gave up.

I have endless patience with coding or doing something on the computer… but when it comes to being handy around the apartment… not so much. My mother is so not proud. (My mother is the ultimate handy (wo)man) Ya… time to call the concierge service and use up an hour of my free labor time (God I love my building).

Yesterday was really fun. I got to go see the Blue Angles! What an amazing show. Makes me want to go fly in one of those jets… My mother said its not to expensive to have someone take you up in one! Maybe I’ll look into that! I also got to see them fly by my apartment building today a couple times! Right out side my window :-)

Ok.. well im loving my mac still.. haha Still taking some getting used to though. Fun shit :-p

Until later!

Ok.. Yes… Its been a while

Ok. So I’m not very good at keeping up with blogs. It has been almost a year since I last wrote.

What motivated this sudden pick up in blogging again? I gave in and bought a MacBook! Some how macbooks motivate blogging. I’m not sure why…. but they do. Anyway, I was told by a co-worker that I should document my experience transitioning over to a Mac. So far so god. Its so pretty…. :-) Its also so quick and smooth working.

For now I need to go to bed… Im extremely light headed from someone on my hall using/spilling a ridiculous amount of bleach or ammonia. Ya kinda sucky. But my apartment is freaking amazing!!!! (I’ll take pictures later).

For now here is my fav photo from an hour long photo shoot in the photo booth… god that thing is addictive!

Ok, I do have shorts on... seriously...

Oh Photo Booth :-)

Knock ‘Em Out

So I found this song.. and I feel like its the anthem to clubs in New York :-) (This gives you a little idea of my crazy summer haha). Below is a random youTube video. Lily Allen is awesome! :-D I’ll also include the lyrics below it. If you like this song check out some other songs by her like “Everything is Wonderful” and “Friday Night”.

Alright so this is a song about anyone, it could be anyone.
You’re just doing your own thing and some one comes out the blue,
They’re like,
“Alright”
What ya saying,
“Yeah can I take your digits?”
And you’re like, “no not in a million years, you’re nasty
please leave me alone.”

Cut to the pub on a lads night out,
Man at the bar cos it was his shout,
Clocks this bird and she looks OK,
Caught him looking and she walks his way,
“Alright darling, you gonna buy us a drink then?”
“Err no, but I was thinking of buying one for your friend…”

She’s got no taste hand on his waist, tries to pull away but her lips on his face,
“If you insist I’ll have a white wine spritzer”
“Sorry love, but you ain’t a pretty picture.”

[Chorus]
Can’t knock em out, can’t walk away,
Try desperately to think of the politest way to say,
Just get out my face, just leave me alone,
And no you can’t have my number,
“Why?”
Because I’ve lost my phone.

Oh yeah, actually yeah I’m pregnant, having a baby in like 6 months so no, yeah, yeah…

“I recognise this guy’s way of thinking…”
As he comes over her face starts sinking,
She’s like,
“Oh here we go..”
It’s a routine check that she already knows, she’s thinking they’re all the same.

“Yeah you alright baby? You look alright still, yeah what’s your name?”
She looks in her bag, takes out a fag, tries to get away from the guy on a blag, can’t find a light,
“Here use mine”
“You see the thing is I just don’t have the time.”

[Chorus]

Go away now, let me go,
Are you stupid? Or just a little slow?
Go away now I’ve made myself clear,
Nah it’s not gonna happen,
Not in a a million years,

[Chorus x2]

Nah I’ve gotta go cos my house is on fire,
I’ve got herpes, err no I’ve got syphilis…
AIDS, AIDS, I’ve got AIDS!

Check out my little slide show from California :-)

“My Greatest Fear is that there is no PMS and this is my Personality”

Its so amazing outside. California is just such a beautiful state with amazing weather (at least in most places). Right now I’m sitting outside of my house in Sacramento eating peanuts and trying to read the computer screen in this warm amazing sun. It makes me think about my summer in New York City. With in my first two weeks there i thought that I would LOVE to live there after graduation (ya that scary time where we have to move into the real world). But then as a couple months of non-stop fun and action went past I started to notice a change in myself. I truly was not as patient as I used to be. I started to get that New Yorker “go or get the hell out of my way” attitude. Now this is not to say that New York is not a friendly place, people there are so fun and interesting, but there is always this underlying big city attitude of ‘every man for himself’. I found myself sort of adapting to this attitude and taking it all in.

When I got home to CA, my views totally changed. I started to see how I had changed while in New York (while some for the better, some not so much). I traveled around nor-cal and saw the sites and ate the food. All things i’ve done before, but after New York you start to appreciate the open and happy feeling you get here.
Oh ya… and the food… amazing. I’ve had some of the most amazing meals since i got home. How am I ever going to go back to school and start eating omelets ever day again?!? Not going to be good… spoild i am :-)

Ok, So what it comes down to is if you haven’t been to Cali, you need to at least come here to see what its like. Travel.. do the wine country, the pacific ocean, and of course San Fransisco! Cali is where I want to end up after school… now if I could just find a job!!

Ok, enough ranting :-) time to go eat some more food!! (Going on strict gym regiment when i get back to school!!!!)

Go Blog Go

•August 16, 2007 • 3 Comments

Here goes… I’m starting a blog. Really not something I would normally get into… but I figured if I’m going to be a computer science major focusing on web development and user interface design, I might as well hop on the ‘blog wagon’. A very good friend of mine, Syp, introduced me to wordpress.com, so I thought I would give it a shot. Right now I’m not in the writing mood so I’ll post something later on. For now I’m just going to mess with the look. I’m waiting to get back to school so I can use my SD slot of my computer to upload all the amazing California pictures i have :-)

Emily

p.s. California is the most amazing state ever. (More on that later :-) )
